All your strength is in union, all
your danger is in discord. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Are you a team
player? How would those around you answer that question about you? Is it more
important to get the credit, than to get the job done? Do you think no one can
do the work as well as
you?
There are a lot of
team relationships in each of our lives
parents, teachers,
coaches, spouses, children, etc. How are you impacting those relationships to
be stronger? What does Gods Word say?:
Each one should
use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering
Gods grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
Do nothing
out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better
than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but
also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:3-4
Therefore, as
we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who
belong to the family of believers. Galatians
6:10
Being team player is
looking to serve and not expecting to be served. It is working on your
weaknesses, not trying to change those around you. It is realizing that there
is something bigger in life than your own personal desires and
comfort.
Jesus understood this
principle
He served His disciples on their last night together. He washed
their feet. He also served you and I
He willing went to the cross and laid
down His life as a sacrifice for our sins. Why not put yourself last today? Let
Christ move to the front of your life. Let those around you take a place of
priority.
