“Pray for Anything!”
This is the weekly email devotional of WhoUWith? Ministries (2005)

“Dear God, If you do all these things you are pretty busy. Now here’s my question. When is the best time I can talk to you? I know you are always listening, but when will you be listening hard in Troy, New York?
Sincerely Yours,
Allen (10)” From a book titled: “Children’s Letters to God”

Have you ever felt that way? ?
  • God I know you’re busy, but… ?
  • God I hate to bother you, but… ?
  • God this is really not that big of a deal, but…
In Matthew chapter 10, God tells us that if He cares for the birds of the air, how much more He must care for you and me. If God cares about silly little birds and He knows the very number of hairs on our head (for some of us that is a real short count!) then why are we scared to bring everything to Him?

II have heard some say, “Well, I only bring the big things to God.” May I ask you something? What makes you think that your big things are big to God? I seriously doubt God is up there thinking, “Boy, I hope she doesn’t ask me to help her with that deal” or “He better not dream of praying for that mess he’s in, even I can’t help him with that problem.” We serve a God who has never had to say “opps” or “sorry, can’t help ya

What does God Word say?:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Notice the above verse doesn’t promise we will get the answers we want to our prayers, but I believe it promises us something far greater, something we all seem to be ultimately searching for, peace. The Bible uses the word shalom for peace. The idea is that when we take our praises, thanksgivings, worries and burdens to God in prayer we can leave it all with Him and experience a peace that can not be explain this side of glory.

When we truly pray from a God-reliant heart and trust Him with the outcome it is a freeing encounter with a holy God. It is that type of encounter that God desires to have with each of us each day. So what about today? God is waiting and listening…what do you have to say

Just a thought!
