"It's all right to sit on your pity pot
every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done." --Unknown
Have you ever felt robbed? You worked hard for a goal. You gave
all you had to achieve it...but in the end the "victor's crown" was not yours
to put on.
How do you respond to disappointment? Your response will say
a lot about your character. It will say even more about your resolve to not
give up.
A goal only becomes a passing dream when you give up and feel
sorry for yourself. Goals are not only meant to be set, but they are meant to
be attained...and goals worth attaining are usually not reached on the first
try.
What does Gods Word say?:
Remember that in a race
everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run in such a
way that you will win. All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to
win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run
straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I am not like a boxer who
misses his punches. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do
what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might
be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
So don't
get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will
reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. Galatians
6:9
I don't mean to say that I have already achieved
these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working
toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and
wants me to be. No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be,?
but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and
looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and
receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to
heaven. Philippians 3:12-14
Do you think God has something
to say about pity parties and giving up? Yes, learn from your mistakes...flush
the rest...and get back in the fight!
Make sure your focus stays on
Christ...take the gifts He has given you...and continue to push yourself
towards the goals He has placed in your heart. Now, get up and get back in this
game called life!
Just a thought! |
