driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead." -Unknown
Are you patience? What about those long checkout
lines at the store? What about those rush hour "parking lots" on the
interstate? What about when someone whips into the parking spot you had been
patiently waiting on?
Do you ever lose
your cool? Do you snap!? My wife can certainly attest to the fact that I can
lose it.big time!
What does God's
Word say?:
The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and
patience is better than pride. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for
anger resides in the lap of fools. . Ecclesiastes 7:8-9
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret
when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Psalm 37:7
My dear brothers, take note of this:
Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry
James 1:19
I love
that second verse (Psalm 37:7).
When someone cuts me off on the highway, I just
have to remember that they are only carrying "out their wicked
schemes"!
When it comes to patience,
like anything else, Jesus sets the example. Have you ever noticed that Jesus
was never in a hurry? He never got irritated with all the crowds. He never lost
it with His disciples, even though He had to explain things over and over
before they got it.
Patience truly
is a virtue. Continue to passionately pursue Christ, but don't get in a
hurry.it takes PATIENCE!!!!
