"Being a Christian is not to be part of
your life; it is your life!" Henry Blackaby
I don't know about you, but if I'm not careful I
can be found guilty of compartmentalizing my life."family over here, work over
there, friends in this corner, God up on this shelf". Sound familiar?
It is easy to do. We get caught up
in this rat race called life and we forget how to live!
I have heard it said, "It is not the
destination, but the journey, and the stops along the way, that make life worth
living."
Christ wants to flow
through every area of your life. Too many times we try to leave God in the four
walls of the church. Following Christ becomes a once-a-week thing that is
checked off a "to do" list.
Often,
we are doing our own thing in our way, before the message heard on Sunday even
makes it from the pew to the pavement outside!
What does
God's Word have to say:
Do not conform any longer to
the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good,
pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
This is the day the
LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm
118:24
Do you want to be
serious about your faith and following Christ? It is time to be different. Quit
conforming. Be changed from the inside out. Christ should not be "a part", but
the "whole" of your life. That is the challenge and call we must answer to each
day of our lives!
