“Opposition”
This is the weekly email devotional of WhoUWith? Ministries (2006)

“Don’t be afraid of opposition. Remember, a kite rises against the wind, not with it.” –Hamilton Mabie

Have you ever faced opposition? If not, where have you been? Are you still breathing? I doubt any of us have gone through life unopposed. As a matter of fact, if we are honest, we all have probably had many conflicts and disagreements in our lifetime.
Healthy opposition can help us grow. It can challenge us to know what we believe and be able to communicate it to those around us.
Any athlete will tell you that before they face their opponent on game day, they have spent a great deal of time preparing themselves and studying their game plan. In a similar fashion, we must be daily preparing ourselves and studying God’s Word in order to ready ourselves for the times of opposition that will come in our life.

What does God's Word say?:
Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. 2Timothy 2:23-26

Are you preparing? Are you ready for game day? The danger is when we are not prepared; we are like a house built on sand…we will not stand against storm.
Let the wind of opposition strengthen your stand. Do things today to prepare for the battle of tomorrow!

Just a thought!
