Ministries (2006)   “You will make a lousy anybody else, but you are the best YOU in existence.” Have you ever wished you were somebody else? Famous, rich, adventurous, etc. Gatorade had an entire ad campaign centered on America’s desire to be somebody else…”Be like Mike!” All of us have dreamed at some point or another about being a world-class athlete like Michael Jordan…but, did you know you can be something even Jordan can’t…YOU! God only made one YOU. My momma used to tell me all the time; “You are special because God don’t make junk.” I must have been pretty close to trash for her to feel the need to tell me this so often. Why do we question how God has made us? Why are we never satisfied how He made us? What does God's Word say?: I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13 Those who want to do right more than anything else are happy, because God will fully satisfy them. Matthew 5:6 When we are consumed with wanting to be something, or someone, else it is really a slap to the face of God. We are saying that we have a better plan for our lives than the One who gave us life Contentment cannot be found in the world, it can only truly be found in the One who made the world. Don’t “Be like Mike”…strive to be like Jesus in all that you do and say! Just a thought!
