"Gratitude"
This is the weekly email devotional of WhoUWith? Ministries (2004)

"Gratitude is a vaccine, an antitoxin, and an antiseptic." -John Henry Jowett

What in the world did John Henry mean? I think he was trying to hit home the importance of being thankful for all things and in all things. He meant that being thankful is.
  • .like a vaccine, it can prevent the invasion of a disgruntled, discouraged spirit
  • .like an antitoxin, preventing the affects of cynicism, criticalness and grumbling
  • .like an antiseptic, it can soothe and heal the most troubled spirit
What are you grateful for?
  • -health
  • -success
  • -family
  • -friends
  • -faith!
What does God’s Word say?:

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossian 2:6-7

How can we express our gratitude to Christ? Through a life that exemplifies a complete trust and surrender to Him as not only our Savior, but also Lord! Let us never forget to give God all the glory, honor and thankfulness for all that He has done and continues to you in your life!

Just a thought!
