This is the weekly email devotional of
WhoUWith? Ministries (2004 "Fear is false evidence appearing
real."
When I played high school football I had a real healthy
fear of my coach. He was a little rough around the edges and knew how to
"effectively" express his displeasure with your inability to perform at the
level he required! I remember that he would absolutely erupt at halftime. No
one dared move. Especially me...I was usually the one who had missed a key
tackle or fumbled the ball...wow, it wasn't pretty!
What do you fear?
What has erupted in the locker room of your life?
-finances
-relationship
-losing your job
-losing the starting position
-injury or illness What about when things
don't go the way we expected?
The interesting thing about my old
football coach is that once I graduated he changed. He was actually nice. He
began to treat me like a human! Why the change? Because I had gone through the
fire of my coaches' fury and lived to tell about it.
You may be going
through the fire of life's fury and don't think you will live to tell about it.
Be encouraged...
What does Gods Word say?:
We are hard
pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2
Corinthians 4:8-9
"Do not let your hearts be troubled.
Trust in God; trust also in me. John 14:1
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my
life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right
hand you save me. Psalm 138:7
If you have
placed your complete trust in Christ then you have nothing to fear. All you
have to do is be obedient as He leads you.
However, if you have not
placed your complete faith and trust in Christ then you have everything to
fear. Think about it...do you really want your entire future riding on your own
abilities? I know I would be scared to death if it all depended on me.
I
challenge you to surrender your heart and life to Christ today. Allow Him to
take your burdens and fears. Leave all that stuff in the "locker room" and get
back in the game!
Just a thought! |
