"Many of us are faithful to our ideas
about Jesus Christ, but how many of us are faithful to Jesus Himself?" -Oswald
Chambers
Let me try to
explain it this way: If I were asked
about someone who was an acquaintance I would be reluctant to defend that
person since I know very little about them. However, if I were being questioned
about one of my closest friends, I would defend them "to the death" because I'm
faithful to that close friend.
The
difference is.I know very little about one, and the other I'm willing to die
for!
How well do you know Christ?
Is He an acquaintance that is difficult to defend in difficult company? Or, is
He a true friend that you are willing to defend regardless of what others may
think?
What does God's Word say?:
I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be
my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their
heart. . -Jeremiah 24:7
No longer will a man
teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they
will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD.
"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
. -Jeremiah 31:34
Is your faith in the idea of Christ, or is your
faith in a personal relationship with Christ? If you're not willing to die for
Christ.please remember that He was willing to die for you.and did!
Just
a thought!
