"Sometimes we are so busy adding up our
troubles that we forget to count our blessings." --Unknown
What is the old saying?..."God is good, all the
time!"
Is He really? What about when things don't go the way we
expected?
- -we lose someone dear to us
- -we have an injury that puts us out for the season
- -we get dumped by our boyfriend/girlfriend
- -we lose our starting position, or take a demotion at
work
Is God really still
good in times like these? YES! Moments of testing are God's way of
strengthening us, getting our attention and preparing us for the next obstacle
that life throws our way.
What does God's Word have to
say?:
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of
many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops
perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and
complete, not lacking anything." James 1: 2-4
Count it pure joy. Count your blessings! Easier
said than done. Why does He allow us to go through times of testing? Because He
cares. If God didn't care, He would just leave us how we are and never take an
active part in our lives.
I'm so
thankful that Christ doesn't leave us where He found us and that He cares
enough not to leave us where we are, but He is always seeking to challenge us
and grow us into a closer relationship with Him.
How many blessings do you have? You better start
counting them today, it could take a while.
Just a thought!
