"Clay that insists on acting like the
Potter will inevitably end up in pieces." -Beth Moore
Have you ever tried to "play" God? I mean,
you decided that you could get the job done.He was taking too long to answer.or
maybe He did answer and you didn't like it!
What makes us think we know better than God? Are
you going through something that He just can't handle?.NOT! Are you
experiencing a pain He can't understand, or comfort?.NOT!
The Lord showed the prophet Jeremiah what it
means to remain in the hands of God:
So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw
him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred
in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed
best to him. Then the word of the LORD came to me: "O house of Israel,
can I not do with you as this potter does?" declares the LORD.
"Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of
Israel." Jeremiah 18: 3-6
The good news is even though we may be "cracked
pots" the Lord is waiting to set us back on the wheel and shape us as seems
best to Him.
Do you know what I
have found to be true in my own life? When I take things into my own hands, the best I
can form is an old pot. However, during those times when I'm "clay" and I allow
the Master Potter to mold me and shape me.He forms a beautiful vase for Him. Be
clay today and see what God can do.
Just a thought!
